Grigorios Piperagkas has graduated with a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and a Master degree from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, University of Ioannina. He has been employed for more than 14 years in research and industry working on various subjects.

His past and present research and professional interests include electric power systems and energy, numerical optimization and evolutionary computation with applications, metaheuristics, simulation-based optimization, robotics and computer vision, middleware, participatory systems, smart cities, data spaces, on-device artificial intelligence.
